The Best office in the world

I had a lovely welcome from Dudley Doodle yesterday, he had been waiting in the garden for me for an hour so must have been excited about our walk.  We decided to head for one of our favourite spots - Aberdour.  We parked up at Aberdour Station and walked past the Castle, Primary school (deserted for the holidays), through the park to the Silver Sands.  There is a voluntary ban on dogs on the beach between 10am and 5pm (used to be total ban March to September), so we admired the view of the City and the young families building sandcastles and headed off to the coastal path.  continued below...

The coastal path at this point runs parallel with the railway line but this doesn't detract from its delights.  We were trotting along when suddenly poor Dudley rolled on his back.  Fortunately I saw immediately that a grass seed head had lodged in his right front paw between the pads.  I plucked it out and Dudley was fine.  Grass seeds are a doggy nightmare at this time of year...so if your dog gets irritated paws, eyes or ears please check for them.  If they get firmly lodged you might need to visit the vet to get them flushed out particularly in the ears on floppy eared dogs where they can cause infection if they lodge in the ear canal.

Emergency over we continued along the Coastal Path towards Burntisland, we didn't make it to the waterfall past the tunnel but if you decide to follow this route it is well worth a visit, very picturesque cascading down the rocks before the burn heads into the Forth.

We retraced out steps pausing briefly for another photo opportunity by the Silver Sands and then it was back to the car where Dudley lounged in the back and had a wee snooze on the return journey.  A pleasure as always Mr Dudley Doodle:-)
